Actually my arm started aching 2 songs in but it got better after that and I didn’t feel a thing by Junpaku Sanctuary. Probably adrenaline. Straight after the live I fell asleep on one of the chairs outside the hall, completely drained of any remaining energy I had… but I still had to drive the long drive back to the city.

By the time I got back from my flight on Monday morning I was dog tired, nothing anyone said to me entered my brain - stuff just went in the left ear and out the right. Had to rush to a meeting the same afternoon, where I amusingly gave one of my best presentations ever yet (MINORIN-POWAAARDE ADRENALINE RUSHHU!!!) before going back home and collapsing in bed. Slept 11 hours between 3pm-6am - that’s 11 out of 14 hours, lol) but I’m still sleepy - 15 days’ worth of sleep debt can’t be repaid easily!

The Actual Live
The live was an exhilarating experience as you would expect, Minorin was total quality, belting out song after song perfectly and the atmosphere (where I was standing) was pretty electric. But hey, what you hear from a live performance is oh so very different from what you get on record - stuff you never used to like (Voyager Train, Ameagari…) suddenly sound a zillion times better when performed right in front of you, and the interaction with the fans makes things so much more special. Time flew by so quickly, I was like…. ‘oh shit’ when Tomorrow’s chance rolled around, knowing the live was drawing to an end.

Front row seats are always gonna be awesome - a prime view of Minorin in her glorious get-up!!! …though at this point I only remember the boots cos the kebaya blew my mind off its perch. Obviously at the front you’re afforded a bit more space to manuever round but apologies to J*c*, I still managed to bang her on the head a few times with my elbow thanks to overenthusiastic waving. And yes I shouldn’t have worn bloody jeans, jumping around like an arse meant they kept falling to my ankles. Yeah the 3 of us bonkurasu were all standing right at the front, probably the only crazy hardcore female Minorin fans as well - the after live group pic consisting of the fans is so…. testosterone-dominated xD

Favourite parts of the live - the mesmerising Junpaku Sanctuary as well as the double whammy of Aoi Kotou & Paradise Lost - really frantic lightstick action during the latter! I’m glad all my fave Minorin songs were performed - the three I just listed + Shijin no Tabi and Contact 13th, which is always a perfect choice for an encore with its sing-a-long-ability.

Other comments

Man, I really can’t believe it’s over so fast. This was a one-in-a-lifetime chance, with plenty of great times had - memories are stuff money can’t buy and I’ll take them with me to my grave (together with Minorin, hopefully). I hope the live made more people Minorin fans, she’s just a really awesome person and deserves all the success she can get.

Time to plan for the next few live events, now I’ve got a bit more $$$s in my pocket I can afford to do whatever I want! And I know I want moaarrr of this kind of live energy….. shit am I losing my rationality (and my 5-digit bank balance).

Now I’m blaming DaiCon for arriving so early

It’s 4.30am Thursday 9th July 2009. DaiCon is officially 2 days away. I just realized for the past 2 post I counted the days wrongly. Somehow I always take Friday as the day DaiCon starts instead of Saturday. Proves how awsm my counting can be.

Additionally, I’m feeling extremely unwell. I do not know why. Partly it’s because I still cannot believe it’s really coming and there’s so many things to do before the weekend arrives!!

I have yet to pack my bag at all and I’m supposed to travel on Friday for DaiCon. Got so many things to bring and prepare. I’m supposed to stay at Traders Hotel, but to be honest, I don’t really know how to drive out from Traders Hotel to Cyberjaya. Shitzor.

J1m0ne and danie are arriving as well on Friday (someone quarantine danie please). I’m supposed to meet up with both of them but due to schedule conflict, I might not meet them until Saturday. Shitzor.

I have tonnes of workload to complete before the weekend arrives. Which is the main reason I’m still up at 4.37am. I highly doubt I can finish my work by Friday and I’ll be in a big trouble if I don’t. Shitzor.

Tomorrow, I need to head to campus early to settle a lot of stuff. It’s not easy trying to graduate and I have only until 5pm to settle all the stuff. The worst 12 hours of my life is coming. I can feel it. Shitzor.

Hopefully 24 hours later after this post, you’ll see me less stressed. Hopefully. I sure pray so. Anyway, just a ranting post. I think I should head to bed. It’s going to be a long day. T.T

Hoh, philosophical? Well actually what I am most concerned about now is the fact that 5 people working on floors 4 and 5 of my office tower block have contracted swine flu (I work on floor 8), so I am trying my hardest not to touch my nose at all times throughout the day. It is hilarious that the cases are being kept hush-hush and not reported in the papers, so who knows what the true number of infected people in the country is.

Anyhow, that is irrelevant stuff.

In amongst my work, I have been calculating & forecasting some useless statistics for my DaiCon trip.

Hours of sleep I predict I will get: 9 (over 3 days - that’s the average amount of sleep I’ve been getting over the last 10 days or so)
No of Red Bulls (less sugar) I will consume: 5 (i hate coffee and tea sends me to sleep)
No of times I will brush my teeth: 9

Possibility of me getting a stomachache: 20%
Possibility of danie~ getting a stomachache: 80% (after consuming anything resembling food)

I guess meeting people (especially the two lovely ones mentioned in this post) will be the highlight of my DaiCon. That and the chance to be able to utter random phrases to Minorin… should I ask bout her fridge, the dumbbells, or sing my awsm version of Karafuraipan no Uta to her? Decisions, decisions.

I’m going to die I’m going to die

It’s creeping nearer and nearer to DaiCon. I doubt I can sleep properly. I’m having mini heart attack now. Let’s see. There’s a few reasons for me to feel so.

1 ) I’m meeting j1m0ne and danie for the first time. The first gathering of our 3 bonklers! Let’s all eat the genghis caramel and puke together!

2 ) I registered myself in Karaoke competition where I’m gonna skip, dance and sing Hoc-chan’s guru guru mawaru.

3 ) I still don’t know what to let Minorin sign. I hate making decisions. Damn it.

4 ) I’m going to see Minorin in real life. Now I can know her real height hehehe.

3 days to DaiCon and I’m already packing my bags, preparing to check myself in the hotel. Friday will be a fun day for me. I’ll meet up with danie and j1m0ne. Or maybe I should head over to the KLIA airport and stalk for Minorin’s arrival. Now, to bet whether she’s flying JAL or MAS and what time is her flight and if she’s even arriving on Friday. Lol.

Am I that hardcore to wait for her at the airport? Nah! But then again, there’s a Burger King nicely located beside the arrival door. Double mushroom BK burger is love. I guess it’s possible for me to camp there lol.

So, anyone up for the camping trip? Also, I heard the wireless in KLIA is fast XD. Let’s try torrenting there while waiting lol lol. Man, I can literally camp the whole week if they give me awesome speed. My apartment’s internet is like a snail crawling around the garden.

So yeah, once again, come let’s all camp in KLIA. Whee.

I used to be a lot more fixated with…. random objects of affection in my teenage years, my excuse is that I just needed to focus my energy on something, anything to cure teenage angst/boredom. Thankfully my so called ‘obsessions’ were very fleeting, often lasting 1-2 years before my fickle mind moved onto something new to fawn over.

As a sad reminder, a chronological list of the people/things I’ve been obsessed with in my quarter-of-a-century life:
1. Sandra Bullock [+ Keanu Reeves]

….All because of that movie Speed (1994). I loved Sandra Bullock, had newspaper + magazine clippings of her pinned up on my wall when I was 10 years old. I watched dumb movies I otherwise wouldn’t have bothered with (The Net, Two If By Sea, In Love and War) if she wasn’t in them… nowadays, I just point and laugh at Miss Congeniality. Oh and I er… managed to somehow develop a huge affection for Mr. Woodhead Keanu Reeves in the process. I watched Bill & Ted and Point Break and other shit like that just for him.
2. The Corrs
Ridiculous obsession which lasted around 2 years, around their Talk on Corners period (’97-98). I was so desperate at one point I actually designed a bloody rubbish Pepsi logo just to get my hands on their limited edition Lifting Me promo single.
3. The Lord of the Rings book trilogy [+ Tolkien in general]
When I got wind of the fact that there was gonna be a series of movies made based on the books it made me determined to read them before they got released (so I could act like a total condescending weaboo). So around 1998 I went down to the library and borrowed battered copies of the individual books and devoured them from cover to cover during boring English lessons in school. From the start I followed all the news about the film, from casting rumours (no Ethan Hawke or Uma Thurman in the end, pfft) to possible scenes being cut out (nooo Tom Bombadil) and shooting locations. It went on from there and I ended up an obsessed Tolkien fan collecting The Silmarillion and other random books I have yet to read to this day :3
4. Leo Ku [+ Gigi Leung]

I think this one was circa 1999-2002, where I went batshit insane buying every single one of both artists’ CDs… and if you know how prolific Chinese artists can be you’ll know how taxing on the wallet it was [half of my collection up there, the others are in the attic I think]. I had horribly stupid fantasies about ‘just how good Leo + Gigi would look if they got together!’ (they were labelmates & good friends back in the day)… I think I probably forgot about them after discovering a certain fresh-faced r’n'b singer called Jay Chou around ‘02 whose music made me realise that Cantopop was actually pretty shit - I own all his CDs too but I’m not obsessed with him… I think I just picked up mumbling techniques off him, that’s all.
5. The Matrix movie
1999 movie that I’ve watched easily more than a dozen times, I think I used to be able to quote 80% of the dialogue or something. And I had an obsession with Carrie-Anne Moss’s Trinity for the loooooongesssst period of time.
6. Utada Hikaru
Uggh. Probably started around 2000 after the release of First Love, and lasted for about three years. I was terribly obsessed with her music, listening to Addicted To You on repeat for days on end. I also almost literally camped outside my local record store when Deep River was released in 2002, so desperate was I to get my hands on a copy.
7. Hirosue Ryoko [+ Takenouchi Yutaka & Abe Hiroshi]
Lol Dekichatta Kekkon, lol. It was a 2001 TV dorama that I was majorly in love with and what made me a fan of all three actors for life. Yes I still love all of them but not on the scale of 7 years ago. I became so infatuated with Hirosue I actually believed she was a good singer (no, she actually sings like a constipated crow) and had the best legs in the world (no, more like cracked chicken wings).
8. Pro Evolution Soccer 2 [+ Championship/Football Manager]

I think I’ve wasted about 30% of my life on these games. Thank God all my consoles are broken and I currently run a 4-year old laptop that can’t run games without threatening to melt on the spot.
9. Chiba Saeko [+ Nanri Yuuka]
Can’t remember how I got so obsessed with Sae-chan, but there was one point where I’d practise my Wapanese on the poster of her on my wall every night before I went to sleep. It was when she did the tiaraway thing with Nanri Yuuka that my obsession truly went overboard and I developed a whacked-out pseudo-yuri mindset. This was around ‘03-04 I think.
10. My-HiME
This is the only anime I’ve ever bothered investing so much emotional energy in. I remember sitting at my desk throughout the evenings (’04-05) refreshing 2ch waiting for screenshots to indicate who was the latest victim of the green sparkles and staying up all night trawling Winny for raws. And oh uhh ShizNat, mmmmm. ShizNat yumm.

Nothing much in the last 4 years or so, where I’ve seen my leisure time cut down to a minimum and I’ve had to divide my spare hours wisely between the three dozen different hobbies I have, leaving me unable to bloody-mindedly pursue any activity or object.

Well to a certain extent I am still very much obsessed about two things (work and music) but I don’t let them govern my mind or cause me to take leave of my sense unlike the other two I’m just so normal these days it scares me, wooh….

…oh wait. I just looked over at my bed and I’m reminded of the one thing I’ve developed a maniacal fondness for…

iii) Panicking because my name is not on list of students who are supposed to graduate and attend the convocation on August.

iv) Panicking because I think I kind of lost my AWSM ticket. Crap

v) Feeling pain all over the body because my stupid kitten bit me. (Oh yeah I have a kitten that lives like a bloody ojou-sama but that’s another story).

vi) Wondering how to settle the amount of money I will be owing Danie soon for all the stuff I asked her to buy. *runs away from Danie*

So basically 7 days before DaiCon and all of us are doing extremely random stuff. I gave up learning the otagei dance for Minorin songs because I don’t have that much stamina to jump and shout. Besides, I’m extremely lazy so my jumping and shouting might have a latency of 5 seconds compared to others. Oh well. So, 7 days before DaiCon. What are you doing?

1 ) Working everyday including weekend…

2 ) …in a swine flu infested country (*runs away from danie*)

3 ) eating unhealthy cheap food which will probably kill her faster.

4 ) continously staring at an auction site and cursing when the auction time got extended (tee hee)

5 ) and finally packing her bags and running away to Japan to continue her torture camp there.

Anyway, this is just one random post from me while I’m waiting to get back to my campus. Congratulations again to Danie for the milestone reached in her OCND. I would never do something like that myself lol. Though I got one question for you. Does your face look like the picture below when you’re starring at the auction site?
